La Ciudad de la Amistad, Chiclayo, es una de las principales ciudades del Perú que no fue fundada por los conquistadores españoles, su reconocimiento oficial como una provincia, fue gestionada por nuestro procer José Leonardo Ortiz y aprobado por decreto del 18 de abril de 1935.
